ISES Tabletop Competition at House of Sweden Embassy

International Special Events Society (ISES) held their annual Tabletop Competition at the gorgeous House of Sweden Embassy located in Georgetown waterfront in Washington DC. ISES is a large organization for event planners and other event related vendors. The theme was music and each contestant had to select a song and decorate their table along that theme. Attendees judged the tables based on innovation, creativity and originality. The band Bemcha provided afro-cuban music and cocktail and buffet dinner provided by Ridgewells Catering. Other sponsors included Cort furniture rental and Chariots for Hire limo service. Inductees into the 2009-2010 Board was also presented.
I got to meet some very nice people waiting for the limo to pick us up to the embassy including a Caren Milman a calligrapher whose been an ISES member for over 14 years. I was floored by seeing what creative people can do to decorate a table including lovely crystal chandeliers and inverting a TV over a table (you have to see the pictures to believe it). The buffet tasted so fresh including my favorite seafood pasta and salmon dips. The House of Sweden was serene with large beautiful glass walls and an amazing rooftop view of the Potomac River and Kennedy Center. This ISES event was a real treat to see and photograph.
