Woke up this morning and found out there was a Pet Fiesta festival in Reston Town Center. So after a few yawns I grabbed my camera gear and put Squishy on a leash. We ended up having great time and everyone loved Squishy - he was a big hit at the festival. Squishy gets along with people and dogs and everyone loved holding and petting Squishy especially the little kids. The only thing he really needed was some shade from the sun as it was a hot day.
We even signed up for the Pet Fiesta raffle at the last minute and we won prize package #3. This included $100 gift certificate at Reston Town Center, a cute donut bed, gift certificates to Four Paws Pantry and Nova Pet Sitters and VIP Kennel, grooming washes and dog treats.
There were a lot of rescue shelters and all kinds of vendors for pets. There were many funny and sweet incidents. One was how Squishy ended up in a baby carriage as the grandmother put Squishy next to the baby and the baby would lay on Squishy like a cushion. Another was when the Collie and Squishy were laying on the ground together, and the Collie put his hind leg right around Squishy like a hug (pictured above).
One thing that was really interesting was Pets on Wheels. It is a volunteer organization that provides friendly visits of pets to nursing homes and mentally/physically challenged people including children.
It sounds like a great organization where Squishy can bring happiness in people's lives and I plan to sign him up for this. If you have a pet you would like to volunteer to help people you can find out more information about this great organization at

I also got Squishy caricature drawing done. Of course it includes him holding a camera. But somehow because I was carrying so much stuff - camera gear, Squishy, prize package #3 I lost the paper drawing heading back to the car because I can't find it now. But luckily you can still see it in one of the first photos in the gallery.
And special thanks to Griffin a 3rd grader girl (in blue shirt) who helped babysit and watch over Squishy towards the end. You and your brother Logan are as adorable as Squishy. And she knew how to spell Sweet Dreams Studio too :)
